God Loves Cigar Smokers

Posted by: Barthélemy Barbancourt

Tagged in: God

While we all know that God hates Al Gore, he has a real affinity for cigar smokers. Just look back into history to see proof of this. Adolph Hitler was an anti-smoking zealot (A real Nazi about it!) and Winston Churchill smoked so much they named a size of cigar after him.

This is the only explaination for the break in the weather just in time for our evening of smokes at Harry's.  I'll be there from 7-9 for sure. Please stop by and have a cocktail.

This just in

When a high value terrorist is captured on the battlefield the Justice Department (as instructed by the White House)  has commanded that all will be read there Miranda (sp) rights

"‘Special master’ to oversee executive pay"

Could the O administration possibly have selected a more inflammatory title for this? It would take work, but I bet they could, unfortunately.

And so, the socialization of American businesses continues.  We knew it was coming, but really.. Special Mater?

Preparation O

Tired of the burning and the itching?  The constant irritation when reality grates?   MSM Labs introduces Preparation O.  A unique combination of salve and anesthetic that will soothe your cerebral cortex and allow you to "Yes We Can" without pain or inflamation.

Preparation O contains a patented formula including Bidenium powerful enough to numb even the most painful synapse flareup.

So the next time your government nationalizes private businesses or tells you that even though unemployment has topped 50 year highs, they've actually saved 150,000 jobs, turn to the soothing, the cooling of Preparation O.

Speed Kills

There's this theme with this administration and this congress, speed and immediacy. The stimulus had to be passed FAST, the auto companies need bailouts FAST, and now the SCOTUS nominee needs to get in there FAST.

Doesn't anyone remember the line, "Speed Kills"? It was true in the 70's and it's true today.

Obama's Banana Republic

The Supreme Court has cleared the way for Chrysler's sale to Fiat, turning down a last-ditch bid by opponents of the deal.

The court said late Tuesday it had rejected a plea to block the sale of most of Chrysler's assets to the Italian automaker. Chrysler, Fiat and the Obama administration had warned that the high court's intervention could have scuttled the sale.

When the political cronies of El' Obama get first place over the legal bonfd holders we have lost any illusion of the rule of law. We are now no better than the banana republics run by tin horn dictators. Obama is a power mad socialist that has no interest in anything other than Power.

All You Need To Know…

...about President Obama's "Change" can be summed up in just a few paragraphs from a today's Star Tribune

Stimulus cash fails to pave way to new hiring in Minn.

The federal stimulus money was supposed to give Minnesota's workforce a jolt of energy, but so far it's just a tingle.

High: 71 °F RealFeel®: 73 °F
Periods of clouds and sunshine

Well, here is the Fucking weather forecast for Thursday June 11th.

Low: 55 °F RealFeel®: 52 °F

Partly cloudy

One of the reasons for this could be colder-than-normal weather across the northern tier of the country that has suppressed the number of thunderstorms and has significantly reduced the number of tornadoes this year. The number of reported tornadoes so far this year is 685, just over half of the average annual amount, which is 1,297.

According to Long Range Expert Joe Bastardi, areas from the northern Plains into the Northeast will have a "year without a summer." The jet stream, which is suppressed abnormally south this spring, .....

FUCK!!!!!!!!!!

I am so fucking sick of Minnesota and the God-awful fucking weather here I'm gonna snap. I swear if some tree hugging jackass even mentions Global Warming to me this summer I'm gonna shove his polar fleece jacket right up his granola farting ass and then slap the smug look right off of his Sierra Club ass kissing face . I know that God hates Al Gore but why the fuck do we have to pay for his messiah complex.

Words

Terrorism. Terrorist. Terror. Seems like those three words are used quite freely these days. George Tiller's demise was considered "an act of terrorism" by some not only on the left, but the right as well. No. It wasn't. It was a murder, plain and simple.

Terrorism:  the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion

Terror:
1) : a state of intense fear
2) : one that inspires fear
3) : violent or destructive acts (as bombing) committed by groups in order to intimidate a population or government into granting their demand

The word(s) are being thrown around loosely not only by bloggers, but the media as well, and most everyone it seems is ignorant of the definition.

We've got the "green people" using the phrase, "environmental terrorism". Oh please! Stop it! There's no such thing. The list of examples has become almost endless. Because of that, the impact has been lost it seems. Just like cries of "racism". And when real racism is exposed, the impact has been so diminished that nobody seems to be bothered, and I feel we are heading down that same path by freely using the word, "terrorism" and its derivatives.

Because of that, when I post, I'm going to be careful about freely using some words unless they are proven to be true, or a very, very strong suspicion to be true. Words do have impact, positively or negatively, like I said before, just look at the word, "racist". With me, most of the time it just goes in one ear and out the other, with maybe a comment of, "whatever", and I know many other people feel the same.

The office of Whitehouse protocol.

Last week while in France, the Obama's were to have dinner just a couple of minutes away from the residence of Nicholas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy.
The French president suggested that they dine together. The Obama entourage rejected the idea. The French press found out... Oops!  What a no class train wreck.   Just another in a long series of fuck-ups on the part of the office of Whitehouse protocol? I originally thought so, and then I saw this picture on the Drudge report and have changed my mind.

Michelle Obama is seen laying her Klingon death stare on Carla Bruni.

Part of the job of president and first lady is that you have to smile and make nice with various heads of state even if you don't like them.
I miss the grown-ups in the Whitehouse.

Hillary-ism or Freudian Slip?

And, finally, I looked around our world and I thought, you know, we are in just so many deep holes that everybody had better grab a shovel and start digging out.

So did "The Smartest Woman In The World" just mess up or did she mistakenly reveal the real plan behind the O admin?

I suspect a bit of both. O's moves can only be rationally explained by a desire to destroy our capitalist economy to pave the way for more socialism. He certainly hasn't done anything that would help us economically.

Cultural Insensitivity

I read a horribly culturally insensitive article today that I just had to highlight it.

A new test to reveal the gender of a fetus in early pregnancy has sparked a row over whether it will lead to sex-selection abortions.

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists is worried about what the test might lead to.

The scene opens on a beautiful tropical island. A fat, bald, closeted homosexual with a huge potato head points to sky and yells "Ze Plane, Ze Plane!"

Pan to an amazingly handsome man dressed in white linen. Think Ricardo Montalban at 43, only Italian. Yep, he's that much hotter!

"Yes, Shamu. The plane is right on time. Now let's head to the dock to greet our guests"

I am Barthélemy Barbancourt and I am your host. Welcome to Anti-Strib Island.

Unemployment

I found this graph from "Innocent Bystanders" via a link at "Powerline".
The light blue line was the predicted calamity if we didn't pass the Obama Porktacular stimulus package. The dark blue line the less calamitous result if we would pass the shit sammich the democrats and the media insisted we needed.
Then of course there are the bloody red dots of reality.

I know we've ragged on the Strib.. but good grief! An editor of Newsweek comes out with something like this and people still think the media isnt in the tank for Obama?

Serious Questions - With All Due Respect

Tagged in: Untagged

At the risk of angering our (mostly) benevolent Teal God, I have to question a few things here.

1.)  The new theme is understandably from the mind of our Il Duce and his preferred tropical hangout. Fine. But when I come here, I am confronted with my left brain wanting to duke it out (respectfully) with the opposition, and my right brain processes what is up here and senses I should just shut up and order a margarita and go with the (warm) flow.

2.) There was a hard black on white "just the facts ma'am" Jack Webbism to the original site. Seeing the crayon-crossed-out hammer and sickle spoke more directly to me than words ever could. We now have a cruising sailboat trying to tell us what this discussion place is about. Is that right? What is the message? Just asking...

The data is in for April. Here's what happened:

1. Household personal income (inflation adjusted) rose, but every penny -- and then some -- went into savings or paying down debts. Consumer spending, on which Barack Obama is betting to stimulate the economy, actually fell. None of the stimulus money was spent. None.

2. Meanwhile, to pay for this stimulus spending that didn't stimulate, Obama had to borrow so much money that long-term interest rates have almost doubled since he took office, forcing postponement or abandonment of business expansion and hiring across the board.
So why Obama has managed to increase the cost of borrowing he has done nothing to increase consumer spending. His Keynesian economics is failing, just as it always has.

Unemployment is now almost guaranteed to hit double digits and will stay there throughout most of next year. The recession will be longer and deeper then than it should have been due to Obama's ignorance and arrogance. The only bright side is that socialized medicine is probably dead as no one wants to further increase the deficit and the debt.

Because the stakes are so low!

This old joke came to me this week when we had a disagreement over Locke and the concept of natural law come up on one of the threads. I don't have a dog in this fight but the commenters got all riled up over this (IMO) esoteric concept.

I'd ask every to take a step back and re-evaluate what is occurring before getting too excited. Here is my take on the matter.

The city of Minneapolis has to close some schools due to dropping enrollment. The parents know that Minneapolis schools suck so they either move out of Minneapolis or opt for private schools if they can afford it.

Minneapolis parents rejected an earlier district proposal to move to all community schools and eliminate public-school choice. Thank goodness they did or even more parents would have exercised the remaining choice of private education.

Tom Hockenberry, Minneapolis, is a parent of two students at Barton.
