Why Americans Question Obama's Faith

President Obama failed to release a statement or a proclamation recognizing the national observance of Easter Sunday, Christianity's most sacred holiday.

By comparison, the White House has released statements recognizing the observance of major Muslim holidays and released statements in 2010 on Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj, and Eid-ul-Adha.

The White House also failed to release a statement marking Good Friday. However, they did release an eight-paragraph statement heralding Earth Day. Likewise, the president's weekend address mentioned neither Good Friday or Easter.

I awoke to a variety of Happy Easter texts and emails Sunday, as I expect many Americans did. I have never received a Happy Ramadan message, although I expect that the Obama's are much more familiar with that holiday than Easter.

Bart you are a fucking liar! I can site multiple happy Ramadan messages!

Wikipedia

"The Ramadan Offensive was a series of insurgent attacks against Coalition and Iraqi military targets from the end of October and during much of November 2003.

The attacks are called the Ramadan Offensive because they were conducted during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The number of insurgent attacks increased during this period mainly because of the belief among the insurgent forces that fighting a foreign occupation force during Islam's holy month puts a believer especially close to God."

Christian Science Monitor

"BEIRUT, LEBANON

A wave of suicide-bomb attacks in Baghdad kills more than 30 people and wounds 200. The same day, Lebanese Hizbullah fighters bombard Israeli army positions along the border with the Golan Heights. The US urges Americans to take extra precautions or avoid travel to Saudi Arabia and Syria.

The connection between these incidents? The onset of the fasting month of Ramadan - the holiest period in the Islamic calendar, and a time for Muslims to renew their commitment to God. For the vast majority, it is an opportunity to express their obligation to Islam's five pillars: faith, prayer, charity, fasting, and pilgrimage."

About.com

"Definition: The Yom Kippur War, as it is known in Israel, or the Ramadan War, as it is known in the Arab world, broke out on Oct. 6, 1973, when Egypt's Third Army took Israeli defenses by surprise in the Sinai Peninsula while Syria attacked in the Golan Heights. Israel had captured the Sinai and the Golan in the 1967 Six-Day War. Momentum went the Arabs' way during the first week but rapidly swung in Israel's favor after that."

terrorfreesomalia

"An estimated eleven Alshabab members died in the last 24 hours in Mogadishu in two separate incidences while planning to carry out attacks during the holy month of Ramadan."

(Sorry about the awkward way I had to reference these. For some reason if I put more than two links in a post it fails to go through. Probably an anti-spanning feature of the board software)

You can find a lot more if you just look you ignorant Kafir. Happy Ramadansmilies/smiley.gif

Christianity is the primary religion of oppresive white Europeans and deserves to be belittled and attacked in order to make the world more "fair". We have to give the Muslims a half-century head start in religious cleansing so that the playing field is fair. Totally understandbale. Barrack has fairness and equality in mind. Always looking for others.... primarily those others that are not Americans.

I stand corrected

While I didn't feel that the Ramadan offensive was directed at me personally, I can see that Muslims have been sending Ramadan messages to the west for quite some time and it seems that few on the left have been listening.

Maybe Obama skipped a "Happy Easter" message as given his comfort with Islam he figured if he couldn't go big on Easter like his co-religionists have with Ramadan, he might was well skip it.

You are correct that the message was one directed to a world audience Kafir and believer alike. Ramadan is a time of joy and celebration (just don't get too close to the fireworks).

What would Jesus do? I don't know, but I bet he wouldn't preach in favor of riding a bike in traffic, being a secular democrat, or blowing yourself up to gain virgins. Stupidity, and describing it, is not a religious issue Woody. But I forget that state sponsored socialist and enviromental facism is the new religion of the left.

It's not a religeous "issue" Jay but it does point out a hypocrisy if Bart considers himself to be a religeous person. I think his pastor would agree with me.

Bart, why exactly do you "expect that the Obamas are more familiar with Ramadan than Easter"? Do they celebrate Ramadan exclusively in Hawaii?

OK Woody, since Bart isn't allowed to ask the question I'll do it.

The current administration is as media and message savvy as any in history. What do you think is meant by the omission of particular holiday messages during the second most important religious holiday of the most observed religion in the world?

Obviously it is not a separation of church and state isue as he is forthcoming with his messages during other holidays. Why the difference? The president is a Lawyer and as such, words and their meaning are fundamental to his makeup. They are the tools and raw materials of his chosen craft. I am curious as to your explanation.

Here is what the President said at the Easter prayer breakfast at the WH. Apparently, the big stink is about the fact that the President did not make an Easter proclamation. An Easter proclation has not been made by a President since 1980. I don't see any references to Ramadan let me know if you do see something between the lines.

"I wanted to host this breakfast for a simple reason -- because as busy as we are, as many tasks as pile up, during this season, we are reminded that there's something about the resurrection -- something about the resurrection of our savior, Jesus Christ, that puts everything else in perspective.
"We all live in the hustle and bustle of our work... But then comes Holy Week. The triumph of Palm Sunday. The humility of Jesus washing the disciples' feet. His slow march up that hill, and the pain and the scorn and the shame of the cross. And we're reminded that in that moment, he took on the sins of the world -- past, present and future -- and he extended to us that unfathomable gift of grace and salvation through his death and resurrection.

"In the words of the book Isaiah: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

"This magnificent grace, this expansive grace, this 'Amazing Grace' calls me to reflect. And it calls me to pray. It calls me to ask God for forgiveness for the times that I've not shown grace to others, those times that I've fallen short. It calls me to praise God for the gift of our son -- his Son and our Savior."

Barry O was raised in Indonesia and his youth was filled with Muslim holidays. I remember some of the Christmases of my youth as the best ones ever.

Barry has to pretend to be a Christian (Anyone have a record of his conversion and a date? Yep, another thing Barry hides)but his heart belongs to Islam. All people identify with the holidays of their youth.

No, I do not proport be the weak assed, progressive pussy Christian that liberals have come to expect these days. I am an old school fire and brimstone Christian that believes in Hell, evil and the lies men tell. I have sympathy for the truly disadvantaged but only distain for the morally weak like drug addicts.

Liberal like to think that there is not truth and no evil but I reject that as complete bullshit. God gave us free will and we got the responsibility that goes with it. You fuck up, you pay the tab.
