Barak Obama was elected with no executive experience. The left was convinced that after some OJT would turn out fine. They were wrong.
President Barack Obama has left Democrats as confused as ever over how the White House plans to deliver a health care reform bill this year, following two weeks of inconsistent statements, negligible hands-on involvement and a sudden shift to a jobs-first message. Democrats on Capitol Hill and beyond say they have no clear understanding of the White House strategy – or even whether there is one – and are growing impatient with Obama’s reluctance to guide them toward a legislative solution.
…And some Democrats feel that every time they look to White House for clarity, they hear something different, as though the strategy is whatever the president or his top advisers said that day.
Experience matters and Pres. Obama has shown that he has the attention span of a puppy let loose in PetSmart.
In 2012 can we try to elect someone that has run something at some time in their life?

but in our system the President doesn't run the Congress. The HCR the Clinton WH proposed failed despite, or perhaps because of WH ownership of the proposed reform.
It's inconsistent and hypocritical for Republicans to
claim Obama should be more bipartisan AND dictate HCR strategy to Democrats looking for ways to overcome Republican obstructionism.

Who is asking for dictation? My take is that Obama wanted to have the Congress craft the bills, but he has not been able to (or not wanted to) help them coordinate the give-and-take amongst Democrats. This means he has not led his party. His HCR approach has not been consistent with either the House or Senate versions, and there is no public record of his preference (if any). In short, he has not been a leader. Nor has he been a follower, for that matter. He's just a microphone- teleprompter on legs unable to inspire.
Bipartisan? I think Obama is incapable of being bipartisan; his leftist ideology pulls him away from compromise with pro-market and pro-business people. Contrast his behavior with that of Bill Clinton, the great triangulator. Bill's problem was that he handed HCR over to the ideologues (his wife and her faculty friends) and SHE couldn't be bipartisan...still has that problem.

"His HCR approach has not been consistent with either the House or Senate versions, and there is no public record of his preference (if any)."
I don't know how closely you've been paying attention, but his repeatedly stated support for a public option is evidence of his preference for the House version. He's had WH meetings with congressional Dems (and Lieberman) about HCR but he can't force them to go along with his suggestions (that co-equal branch of govt thing). I like his offer to host a televised meeting with congressional Dems and Repubs to work on HCR because it means the Repubs will have to put up or shut up, and it fulfills Obama's pledge to publicly name those who obstruct the process. I don't see how the Repubs can refuse but I don't see them winning politically if they don't. Should be good for the country, which is the main thing.
As for the "teleprompter on legs" assertion, I'm still waiting for the thread about Palin consulting notes she inked on her palm during the Q&A session after her Tea Party speech. Pretty lame, as was her bobblehead reading from the teleprompter hidden in her podium. Can she really not remember more than half a sentence of a speech at a time? Particularly funny was the part when she mentioned "my husband . . . (looked down at teleprompter) Todd."

Since we're going with the puppy analogies, maybe a rolled up newspaper across Odin's snout would help. Try to stay focused here instead of falling back on one of your's and the progressive's old Palin bashings that has nothing to do with the subject, or did you have something you want to rant about with Bush/Cheney? Maybe a "nucular" reference or a hunting joke?
Maybe something from LAT will help show you uhbomba's indecision. "President Obama has cited a preference for the so-called public option. But faced with intense criticism over the summer, he strategically expressed openness to health cooperatives and other ways to offer consumers potentially more affordable alternatives to private health plans.
As of late Rusty Feingold is even complaining about indecision coming out of the White House.
I also look forward to uhbomba's pointing out some of the obstructionists. That way I'll know who to address my letters of appreciation to.

We warned you!
