Union Stupidity

Thousands of employees of Verizon Communications Inc.’s landline division are striking throughout the mid-Atlantic region, but so far there appears to have been no effect on telephone service.

About 45,000 Verizon workers walked off the job after their contract expired at midnight Saturday. A spokesman for the Communications Workers of America says 4,200 of those are in Maryland and more than 2,700 are in Virginia, with an additional 620 in Delaware and 490 in the District of Columbia.

Millions of Americans are unemployed and these spoiled losers walk off the job? I can only hope that Verizon has plans to fire each and every one of them and hire a person that wants to work.

I would like to see another broken union. Hire and train scabs. There are probably plenty of people who already have most of the skills they need to be successful in these well-paying and stable jobs.

Are Maryland and Virginia RTW states? The are south of the Mason-Dixon line so they should be, but they are close to DC, somaybe not.

I love the '... but so far there seems to have been no effect...'.
