The Obamanation

Long lines formed early Monday morning outside state Department of Social Services field offices, as low-income residents sought one-time payments for losses incurred during Tropical Storm Irene.

The program is not available for recipients of food stamps, which is the regular Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Eligible food stamp clients are already receiving disaster aid under another program and do not need to apply in person.

He said the number of applicants has built up over the past few days. Last Wednesday the first day, the agency had 451 applicants statewide.

Thursday the number of applicants rose to 1,292 applicants and by Friday, the tally was 1,949.

They've had 3,701 applicants statewide, but the number doesn't include today's applicants nor does it include "rain checks," given to people who didn't get to apply by the end of the day.

This is the nation that Obama envisioned and has worked to create. Liberals love it when people are dependent on the government. These people assume that they will get some free money.

Also note the ethnic make up of this picture taken in Connecticut. Connecticut is 77.6% white and 10.1% black. The line of people seeking a freebie looks like it is 99% black.

So what is your point in pointing out the ethnic makeup of this selected photograph? Are you trying to prove Morgan Freeman right after trying to recently prove him wrong? This isn't the first time you have published photos such as this to make a point about race. It is subtle no doubt but the intent is clear.

clear as what Woody?
In New Orleans when we were working to clean up after Katrina we put out a work call for local people to help with the clean up. We were paying prevailing federal wage (way over the minimum wage)$14.00 for manual labor in the 9th ward one of the worst hit areas. We could not get a single person of minority heritage to get up and help clean up there own neighborhood. The usual response was to let the government clean it up or that $14 an hour wasn't enough. Or the best response was from one guy saying he would do it only if he was the supervisor and we supplied him with a truck and gas. Im sorry but there is a large population of people that are only there for the hand out and they are mostly of a minority heritage that have been told by the left that they are owed something. open your eyes to the real world Woody

What did the "left" tell them Tim? I mean what words lead to this entitlement/handout mentality amongst minorities as you suggest. My eyes are open Tim and I have seen first hand minorities working to improve their community both in normal times and times of tragedy. Look no further than north Mpls after the tornado. We have some friends that live on the north end of the area struck hardest by the tornado and people of all colors were cutting and clearing debris.

Oh let’s see how about your deserving of this. Or you don't have to do that well take care of you. It’s called the entitlement mentality in New Orleans where at the last count 45% of blacks are on the dole for longer than 25 years, and 10% have been on for over 25 years. All delivered to them by the democratic party the same party that can’t say no to spending more money even when we are so far in the dam hole you can’t see the sky because the opening is to dam small to see from why down here.

When Katrina hit Jefferson County, and people were told to leave very few left most were waiting for Mayor Ray Nagin to roll the school busses, even after that they still pissed and moaned about having to do anything.

Then when Ike and Gustavo showed up and they were told to move even before the storm hit they were moved into government shelters then when the trucks showed up with the supply’s there were several reports of near riots when they were told to go help unload the trucks and to help set up the shelter. At a shelter located on the Louisiana University campus people were housed in a brand new dorm one that had never even had students housed in it yet. In less than 5 days the state had to write a check out to the U for over $100,000.00 to repair the damages caused by the people housed there the unit was not able to be used until the next year because of the repair crews still working on it at school time.
Here in this state we expect our neighbors to help us get things cleaned up before the government shows up in neighborhood there is a very big difference between a northern and southern state and how people react in times of emergencies.

My first example was only for New Orleans but you jumped to conclusions that I was being racist and using a broad brush about all minority’s I was making a generalized statement about a large population of people that are only there for the hand out. Not every minority get off your high horse and really look around for a change at other areas of this nation where it is not the same as here in Minnesota.

The picture came with the story
written by Barthélemy Barbancourt , September 27, 2011

I didn't add it. Reality is a bitch to liberals. Reality is what it is, you may call it racism, but its still reality.

Tim has a few real world examples that reflect reality.

Not all blacks are lazy and unwilling to work, but with a 70% illegitimacy rate and a hugely disproportionate representation on the welfare rolls, the reality is that a large section of the black community is hooked on liberal government handouts. The best way to help them is to cut off these handouts.

Liberalism is paradoxically hardest on the poor. They bear the brunt of failed liberal policies that destroy families and motivation. The wealthy only have to bear the taxes and the crime created by liberalism.

How Japan reacted to their Sunami
written by A_Non_Y_mouse;) , September 27, 2011

Personal actions and honor seem to play a part in how they reacted to their recent catastrophe. Its not about color but culture IMHO.
From: http://www.lensculture.com/web...-wave.html

"Cam Wrigley is a freelance photographer based in Nanaimo, British Columbia in Canada. This is his first attempt at a multimedia documentary project. Here is what he says about this presentation:

I travelled to Japan in May of 2011 to witness the aftermath of the tsunami that devestated the Tohoku region on March 11th, and to hear the personal stories of those who were affected by it.

By the time I left for Japan, more than two months had passed since the earthquake. In Canada, news of the Japanese disaster was limited to infrequent reports on the progress (or lack thereof) being made at the Fukushima nuclear plant. It bothered me that the plight of the thousands of displaced people in other areas was largely being ignored in the mainstream media.

This was my first documentary project. It was the most challenging thing I've done in my life, but I was inspired by the resilience, dignity, and kindness I witnessed in the shelters and by the people involved in the recovery effort.

Woody, the tea party is not racist even if the actor who is divorcing his wife to marry his granddaughter says so.
The tea party fav in the GOP field is Herman Cain. Now maybe there is a mass delusion, and they support him through some evil sideways plot, or maybe they like what he says, and don't care about the pigment in his skin.

Why is it that the leftist moral scolds are such P.O.S. as humans?

As for the pic...
Well, it is what it is. They are not the "All things considered" crowd.

Now if Cain was to be the nominee, and the leftists start with the usual racist crap that they throw at every "race traitor republican n*&&#@ uncle Tom"... Will the media notice?

"The media" You mean FOX? I guess it's possible but who knows they didn't seem to notice in the last debate when members of the crowd booed an actice serviceman in Iraq and none of the candidates or the moderator called them out for it. I must admit I was shocked when I heard that happen. Tim, as an ex serviceman, how did you react to this? I mean a man wearing the military uniform of thhis great nation overseas was booed and nobody said anything. What a shame! I'll tell you what, if this had happened at a Democratic debate and one of the "all things considered crowd" booed at a person in uniform Hannity, et al would have been foaming at the mouth in conjured anger. Not so in this case. Double standard??? Likely so.

A public service requirment and time limits for welfare and section 8
written by Barbara Lofquist , September 30, 2011

Everyone on the dole that is not elderly or SEVERELY handicapped should be required to WORK 40 hrs./week doing public service. Should some choose to "opt out" and attend school, a 2 year program should be paid for, with 30 hrs. a week of public service required while going to school. The welfare roles will shrink, I guarantee it. Children should be cared for in large neighborhood centers, staffed by the recipients of taxpayers largesse.

Welcome! I don't recall you being here before. I am the resident geezer and DWH. In my geezer role, I've seen your ideas since LBJ brought us the "War on Poverty". What you will get from the left is "Thats slavery!!", and the right will slink off. Perhaps the time has come.

And Woody, why does FOX have the highest ratings? Hmmmm?

Simple nobody. They are the sole choice for conservative news coverage while there are multiple media outlets with
less conservative views. It's pretty simple, I'm surprised you had to ask.
