I might lose my effing mind.  I have a friend that has been working TONS of hours as an aide at the capital and as we all know, the state House and Senate have been working their tails off trying to finish the budget.  Well, she came upon a room where a few House members were sitting having a very serious discussion.

2012: Pawlenty v. Klobuchar

I figured seeing as this is my first post on the Anti-Strib I'd better write about something in the Star and Sickle.   So here it is.  Reports have leaked that Gov. Tim Pawlenty won't seek re-election next fall.

At first glance this seems like a pretty unbiased  report. It discusses the likelyhood that Pawlenty will make at run at the White House in 2012.  Gov. Pawlenty is likeable enough, and certainly has raised his national exposure since last summer but I think the Republican nomination is Romney's for the taking. Romney has been a thorn in the side of the Obama White House since day one, and I believe Republicans are kicking themselves for not putting him on the ticket in 2008.

While Pawlenty running for the White House isn't out of the realm of possibility in 2012 I think another scenario is far more likely.  Pawlenty is going to run against Amy Klobuchar in 2012.  Four years as a senator would be a nice stepping stone for a WH run in 2016.  The Strib doesn't even mention this possibility.  Did it never occur to Strib editors that Pawlenty would even consider running for Senate?  Or do they not even want to think about the chance that the evil Governor would dare challenge their handpicked liberal mouthpiece?
