The city of Minneapolis has to close some schools due to dropping enrollment. The parents know that Minneapolis schools suck so they either move out of Minneapolis or opt for private schools if they can afford it.
Minneapolis parents rejected an earlier district proposal to move to all community schools and eliminate public-school choice. Thank goodness they did or even more parents would have exercised the remaining choice of private education.
