Ok, I've heard some whoppers out of the always level headed Islamic cult of death, but this one has got to take the cake.  According to Iranian cleric Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi, the earthquakes taking place throughout the world are a result of "women who wear revealing clothing and behave promiscuously".

Totally Disgusting

I don't generally do Why Islam Sucks posts, but this just plain nauseates me.
From the Islamic "Rebublic" of Iran:

He said he had been a highly regarded member of the (Basiji) force, and had so “impressed my superiors” that, at 18, “I was given the ‘honor’ to temporarily marry young girls before they were sentenced to death.”

In the Islamic Republic it is illegal to execute a young woman, regardless of her crime, if she is a virgin, he explained. Therefore a “wedding” ceremony is conducted the night before the execution: The young girl is forced to have sexual intercourse with a prison guard - essentially raped by her “husband.”

“I regret that, even though the marriages were legal,” he said.

I've been watching this business in Iran pretty closely.  Up until today I had mixed feelings about it.  This Mousavi chap is no Abe Lincoln.  But he is no Iwannajihad either.  The passive, dickless response from the White House has got me riled.  Here we have a people rising up, doing exactly what we want them to do, which is throw off a tyrannical theocracy that sponsors terrorism globally, and what does Great Leader say about it?  Jack shit, that's what he says about it.  He's too busy strong-arming pharmaceutical companies.

It wasn't too long ago that Democrats cared about freedom and democracy (except in Chicago).  They were the ones most likely to get out and march in the street for principle's sake.  I guess those people are dead and gone, because the only person I see making strong statements about Iran is John Friggin McCain.

The Current Occupant of the White House is not living up to the ideals of Martin Luther King, Jr.  I didn't expect him to.  He is 100% agenda driven, and that agenda has very little to do with freedom, here or abroad.  Freedom and perpetual servitude to the State are mutually exclusive.  But the pathetic lip service he is paying to the people of Iran is very educational.
