Senator asks about firings of watchdogs
WASHINGTON - -- He was appointed with fanfare as the public watchdog over the government's multi-billion dollar bailout of the nation's financial system. But now Neil Barofsky is embroiled in a dispute with the Obama administration that delayed one recent inquiry and sparked questions about his ability to freely investigate.
Now before any one brings up well Bush fired the 9 US Attorneys. There is a big difference between a US Attorney, and IG's office the attorneys work at the pleasure of the President, and he can hire and fire them as many times as he wants to.
Where an IG falls under a totally different set of rules and a law that the then Senator Obama voted yes for that does not allow an IG to be fired without a 30 written notice to congress with full discloser of why the IG was being fired, this has not been done. ONE of the IG's being fired was appointed to follow the money being spent for the stimulis boon doggle. Some thing smells, and it is not the rose garden.
The disagreement stems from a claim by the Treasury Department that Barofsky is not entirely independent of the agency he is assigned to examine ¿ a claim that has prompted a stern letter from a Republican senator warning that agency officials are encroaching on the integrity of an office created to protect taxpayers.
Boy more bad behavior from the Treasury Department who would have thought that the tax cheat in charge of the IRS would not work to throw out the peoples watchdog the one person that is watching out for us tax payers. Please read the whole story and make your own minds up but this is really looking bad. Some one want to tell me why everything that this administration has passed has had to be done so fast because its an emergency?

The openness of this administration is quite astounding, even change we can believe in. I have heard a number of MSM ObamaWonks comparing the US Attorneys with the IGs, but there is no comparison.
The Chicago-style strong-arm tactics continue.
Another blatant health care lie today where BHO stated "(his) health care plan would not add to the deficit" just adds to the Obama Misery Gauge/Index (OMG)
