Senate Republicans tried to make Democrats hold a quick vote on President Obama's jobs-stimulus bill Tuesday, but were blocked by Senate Majority Harry Reid, the Nevada Democrat who is sponsoring Mr. Obama's bill but who said other matters take priority.
I thought Obama wanted everyone to pass this bill right now? Why would his own party block a vote in something that the President says is so urgent and important?
Mr. Obama has traveled the country calling for Congress to pass his plan immediately — including most recently Tuesday afternoon in Texas — but the tax increases included in his bill are opposed by Republicans and even many Democrats.
With that in mind, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Republican, tried to force a vote, which presumably would have resulted in a humiliating defeat for the White House.
"I'd like to give him that vote," Mr. McConnell said.
So what I'm reading is that the President's bill is such a POS that even the Democrats don't want to pass his crap. Maybe someone should tell Obama that his own party thinks he's a dipshit.

Sadly, Woody is always the last to know, he's far more concerned with the name-calling-lack-of-Presidential-decorum at Anti-Strib...

BirchWoody will be by in a bit...
He's looking for a 'good' article that disparages Bush without calling him 'BusHitler' or calling Conservatives 'Fascists'.

The Dems want to put a 5% surtax on the wealthy as part of this bill to pay for the jobs. That 5% is currently not in the wealthy's mattresses. It is at work in the economy making jobs. If Washington confiscates it to pay for Obama's union jobs bill, which predominantly goes to public union employees, it will take potential jobs from the private sector--permanently.

I'm guessing he settles on an article somewhere along the lines of ThinkProgress, where it is self-evident that in their sanctimonious invoking of Godwin's Law, that W is instead, in reality, "BushMcChimpy" and Conservatives simply can't help the fact that they are all uneducated dupes, held so easily in sway by "FauxNews"
