Newt for VP!

Regardless who wins the nomination, I have no trouble imagining Newt Gingrich as the Vice President. With his noted background in the legislature and his quick wit and intelligence he can be a tremendous force for the right before both the legislature and the media. I realize the president of the senate has traditionally been a maidenhead (can I say that for a historically male dominated role?) position, but I think with his procedural knowledge he could provide significant influence in both houses.

In the Republican Debate last night, and I am happy to state it was more of a debate than I have ever seen before, and throughout this campaign, he has been a non-combatant to the other candidates and been very effective and insightful in his attacks on Obama. He has been very appealing to the crowds, as well.

Additionally, I think Herman Cain has been well-spoken throughout. Neither of these candidate have any chance of winning the presidency, but should be considered for VP and the cabinet, respectively.

That takes the color issue out of the race.

Like a non-Democrat, I was not thinking color but strengths. He's got Federal Reserve experience, what about there or in one of the other business cabinet member posts?

Plus I like the strength of Newt and his legislative background. He would not get lost in the minutia of Congress.
