Michigan Democrat Rep. Bart Stupak to retire

Posted by: Jim W

Michigan Democratic Rep. Bart Stupak, who was the central figure in the abortion debate surrounding the health care law, will retire from Congress at the end of this term.

Stupak, who's been in Congress for 18 years, will make the announcement at a 12:30 p.m. ET press conference in Marquette, Mich.

Au Revoir
, dickweed.  Hopefully while you sit in your arm chair during retirement, you can reflect on your complete disregard for the Constitution.  To quote Danny's Irish girlfriend in Caddyshack - Yeah, well tanks for nuttin!!!

It's too bad there are not more politicians with the courage to put "the cause" or the good of the people ahead of their career. It's too bad Sen Stupak chose to retire but I wish him the best in his retirement or other future endeavors. Thank you.

Mankind has had more tyrany in the name of "the good of the people" than anything else.

The good of the people, my ass. Liberals can choose to delude themselves if they want that this crock of shit bill was for the good of the people, but come November the "people" will let these pissants know just how happy they are that govt decided to stick their noses further into the "people's" business. The cause? Fuck that. He was bought at the last minute to get his vote. He didn't vote for the "cause". He wasn't noble in his decision. He's a scumbag piece of shit who should rot for selling out his constituents for a political favor. I would hope he'd spend his retirement thinking about the way he pissed on the constitution, but in reality that smug fucking prick will likely spend the rest of his days patting himself on the back for his decision to help "the cause" for "the good of the people".
Fire the whole damn lot of them.

He got some money for three airports in the U P. "The good of the people" comes out of my pocket to fund crack hoes. Most of us don't like it.

I think Bart actually tried to be an honorable man but caved. He knows he's a coward and will spend the rest of his life knowing he sold his honor.
