Headed back to the 13th century

The 127-acre Living Energy Farm in Louisa County will show that “it is possible to live a healthy, joyful life without the use of any fossil fuel,” project organizers say.

Using oxen as draft animals is part of the farm’s zero-fossil-fuel formula. The farm also plans to offer a workshop for “anyone interested in learning how to train their own oxen,” the news release said.

According to the center’s Web site, “The most powerful sustainable ‘technology’ we will employ is cooperative housing in an income-sharing community. We will foster a lively community culture that will be an eye-opener for many modern youth. Though we will use some modern machines (such as solar electricity for pumping water), we will not have a general accessibility to electric power. We will pro-actively build a homemade positive social culture without electronic escapism.”

Wow, a new age commune with no personal property or personal space. These communist enclaves worked our so well for the hippies in the 70's that I'm sure everyone is just dying to repeat that stupidity. Jim Jones was a great fan of people this stupid.

God I hate smelly hippie enviroweenies!

If you don't read the comments. Hilarious!

"If you don't have any oxen you can hitch up lots of illegal aliens to your plow and farm that way. Illegal aliens can become a national resource to be exploited. We could invite more of them come and to die from exhaustion in the traces while pulling a wooden stick cutting hardpan."

Bart the D-bags running this joint weren'i around in the 70's and missed the fun. They spent their college years reading (insert oppressed group name here) Studies approved revisionist histories. You just don;t know that the Jim Jones experiment was a good one, the bad ending was that Senators fault, he was on a witch hunt.

"You just don;t know that the Jim Jones experiment was a good one, the bad ending was that Senators fault, he was on a witch hunt."

Look, I hate the feds as much as anyone, so I know that the WACO deal was a major fuck-up and some ATF agents should be in prison for Ruby Ridge. But when a bunch of nutballs go off into the jungle and kill themselves by drinking poisoned Kool-Aid, I'd say they went way off the rails.

The Congressman was investigating a cult at the request of some constituents, given the end result, I'd say that they deserved to be investigated.

Screw you and your capitalist machinations!

Their independent holistic earth friendly non traditional dietary supplemental specialist had determined that they as a group had been contaminated with a toxin from the corrupt and despotic capitalist inoculation mafia, they were trying to cleanse their systems with cyanide supplementation and or hyper-velocity sub-dermal lead implants, they simply had an accidental medicinally supervised overdose. This overdose was due to stress induced PTSD induced by the capitalistic witch hunt by the government and their media lapdogs. You just don't understand........

Don;t get your panties in a wad Bart, of course I am pulling your leg.

"The dream of the many poor members of Peoples Temple for a new and better life in Utopia were demolished as soon as Jones instituted forced extended labor, armed guards, the total restriction of all civil liberties, semi-starvation diets, and daily punishments for the slightest breach of any of his many rules that amounted to torture.

"When concerned relatives forced a Congressman and his media crew to inspect the compound, Jones arranged for them to be murdered. He then gathered almost all of those members who were at the compound and gave a speech that lasted less than an hour in which he exhorted them all to take their lives by drinking cyanide-laced Kool Aid. Those who refused were forced to drink by the guards or were shot trying to escape, but most obeyed their leader."

The fact is that kooks of one kind can become kooks of another kind. The more severe the "innocent" kookdom the faster it can turn sinister. I don't believe the hippie commune bullshit will be lasting any more this time than the last countless times it was tried before. Share and share alike is fine until it gets boring, then the real collectivism starts, that's when you need to watch out.

People aren't equal
written by Barthélemy Barbancourt , May 11, 2011

This is the core reason why communes and communism will never work. Some work harder than others, others are more or less intelligent. The lazy take advantage of the hard workers and resentment builds until the whole deal collapses.

I'm working late tonight and will work at least 5 or 6 hours on Saturday and Sunday. I will also make more $$ by doing this. This is why capitalism is the only way to go. I work harder than crack whores and alcoholic bums and thus I have a better life.

Of course, sometimes I get grumpy when I'm very busy so my responses to share the wealth losers is basically, "Go fuck yourself!" Brevity is the soul of wit.
