Ok, I've heard some whoppers out of the always level headed Islamic cult of death, but this one has got to take the cake. According to Iranian cleric Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi, the earthquakes taking place throughout the world are a result of "women who wear revealing clothing and behave promiscuously".
Hopefully you weren't drinking anything as you read that. I seem to recall hearing something similar out of Islam dating back to 2004. The December 2004 Tsunami was blamed on the "evil thoughts" of the United States.
But the following really does take the #1 spot now.
A senior Iranian cleric says women who wear revealing clothing and behave promiscuously are to blame for earthquakes.
Iran is one of the world's most earthquake-prone countries, and the cleric's unusual explanation for why the earth shakes follows a prediction by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that a quake is certain to hit Tehran and that many of its 12 million inhabitants should relocate.
"Many women who do not dress modestly ... lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which (consequently) increases earthquakes," Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi was quoted as saying by Iranian media.
Oh, but it gets better...
"What can we do to avoid being buried under the rubble?" Sedighi asked during a prayer sermon Friday. "There is no other solution but to take refuge in religion and to adapt our lives to Islam's moral codes."

Seriously, the only time I recall women causing a quake was when a Kmart blue light special was announced on 5-8X sweatpants and the herd moved in unison.

Well, as far as women causing earthquakes, I still call batshit crazy on the "cleric". But on a more personal level, the BMW has been known to cause a "stir" where I am concerned. She is quite the hottie, after all.

I'm disappointed in you all. Not ONE of you brought up the volcano in Iceland and how if promiscuous women are causing earthquakes, they clearly must also be the cause of the "eruption". Ahem.
