This morning on Good Morning America, the resident weather douche (Sam "drama queen" Champion) was standing amid fans awaiting the outdoor concert series and covering the weather. The screen then flashed to a map showing the mid-central states and upper eastern seaboard, where there is going to be some hot weather today. He actually said the following:
"....all this heat in this very early and very hot summer..."
The graphic was showing low to mid 90 degree temps.
Um.
It's July you ignorant dipshit! Mid-July at that. It's not early. It's fucking NORMAL. We get 90 degree heat in the summer. It happens. It has happened for as long as I can remember. Except for recent years here in Minnesota, where we've had LESS days above 90 than normal. Last year we only had 4. Honestly, what the hell do asswipes like this think they are trying to pull?

Nope - I actually heard Bart say that exact phrase, after a bottle or two of wine, when Al Gore won the Oscar. To this day I laugh my ass off when I think of it. Mostly because it SO offended the Al Gorians that were with us.

Jim, don't waste your indignation over weather news readers. They majored in "Communications" in college and never took science (maybe political science). They have been replaced with a computerized voice on things like my weather radio. They're mostly fools and dupes and live to hype the weather to draw viewers.
Ironically, when we skeptics pointed out a pattern of extra-cold winter weather as a contraindication of MMGWT, we were lectured that "well, it's only weather, not climate." We can say the same thing back to them now.

back ground, Kermit. Background. there isn't anything on there that can be taken all that seriously, except for the utter stupidity. The only tolerable local morning news is KSTP, and tolerable is the best thing I can say.
The BMW and I decided this AM after hearing that "American Idiot" is the biggest thing going at GMA and 90 degrees is global warming, it might be time for us to turn on teh radio for background.

I never turn on the TV in the morning, it just a waste of time. I hit the office, check emails and a few websites and then hit the shower and head out.
If you break the habit of turning on the idiot box, you will find that you have more time in the morning and get to work feeling better.

Now – to the double standard hogwash. Newsflash – this blog leans right. This should come as no surprise to anyone. Also, given the fact that, by definition, a blog is an opinion forum, it should also come as no surprise to anyone that the opinion you espouse here likely will not be shared by others. Therein lies the rub, my friends. Your challenge is to accept that others really do have a brain and put together their arguments to the best of their ability. So, if you take personally post titles such as “environmentalists = lying piece of shit”, you aren’t having fun, nor are you trying very hard. You’re taking it too seriously and this isn’t for you. Always remember, it is incumbent upon YOU to answer that post with a reasoned argument that isn’t chock full of insults. If you disagree with it, spell out your reasons why. If you can’t do that without calling the contributor a fucker or stupid or racist or whatever your choice of names, then ignore the post or leave. It is that simple. When we say “no insults” in the rules, it means you’re not going to insult each other. Public figures are fair game – and while I would hope that the contributors here would give a bit more thought to their titles on a go forward basis, at the same time I want traffic. I want something that riles people up. I don’t want stale. Reasonable adults should be able to have a conversation about unreasonable topics or situations without exchanging barbs, even if they read something that is so vile they can’t think of anything other than name calling. You’re an adult, act like it.
