WASHINGTON – In a triumph for President Barack Obama, the Democratic-controlled House narrowly passed sweeping legislation Friday that calls for the nation's first limits on pollution linked to global warming and aims to usher in a new era of cleaner, yet more costly energy.
The vote was 219-212, capping months of negotiations and days of intense bargaining among Democrats. Republicans were overwhelmingly against the measure, arguing it would destroy jobs in the midst of a recession while burdening consumers with a new tax in the form of higher energy costs.
It's official. The United States government has declared war on it's citizens. May these bastards reap the whirlwind. Fuck Washington.

the excrement is going to hit the rotating blades before the 2010 elections, or if we are going to have to wait til '12 to throw the socialists out...
I read that there were 8 defectors (RINOs) that voted for this POS. There were 44 Dems that voted against it. (Drudge's link to Politico for the story)

every Blue Dog dem who voted for this will be CRUSHED in 2010. If Colin Peterson got bought off by Hoyer and Pelosi (as I heard) the 7th might be in play this season.

This is one of the two economic coffin naiols the Dems have been trying to pouond into our nation. Card Check is the other. The United States used to be a manufacturing cuperpower. This assures the end of that era and will usher in a long period of decline and poverty unprecedented in our history. The government is now incentivizing economic decline. Why keep a manufacturing operation open under increasing regulatory burdens when you can shut it down and sell the carbon credits to the fools who are still trying to keep their doors open.

Well Pelosi got it through with the help of
John McHugh NY (Rino)
Dave Reichert WA (Rino)
Mary Bono Mack CA (Rino) may Sonny rest in peace
Frank LiBiondo NJ (Rino)
Christopher Smith NJ (Rino)
Leonard Lance NJ (Rino)
Michael Castle DE (Rino)
Hmm lot of NJ/NY there, wonder what the payoff was for screwing the country with a bill that will raise taxes on every single person legal/illegal in the country.

All the little scum of the Earth countries won't be able to put up their tents fast enough for their sweatshops.
It's going to be impossible to afford to make anything this side of Cambodia.
But look at the bright side. We won't have to set aside any money any more for that rainy day.

How much you wanna bet that everyone of those "republicans" got bought off by the big dem machine and are in disticts that Obama carried. I think that the biggest story is that 44 DEMOCRATS voted AGAINST this bill. Funny how you haven't heard the press talk about that...

Turns out Peterson did make a deal with dem leaders. Ain't it nice knowing he made a deal with the devil..er...Pelousi.
Now Great Leader also come out and said he has doubts about the provision to impose tariffs on imports that was in the 'mad capper and trade' bill. Great. Not only will prices go sky high here, we're gonna tax the crap out of imports from countries that aren't as tree-huggy as we are.
About those 44 - "I think those 44 Democrats are sensitive to the immediate political climate of uncertainty around this issue," the president said. Ya think Sherlock??? uncertainty????

they also probably cared about their political futures, which would have been very grim if they voted for it.

You got that right Ben. With those eight weak kneed rinos in her pocket, Pelousi gave the go ahead for them to vote against it.

I do have to give her credit. That ain't a dumb way to go about it if you have no scrupples.
